Who were the Druids? - Weidenfeld & Nicolson London 1997 - - .

Julius Caesar described the Druids as priests who filled huge wickerwork images with living men and burned them alive. New discoveries and ancient writings show the Druids to have been priests who acted as astronomers, judges, and teachers. They were also intimidately associated with sacrifice.
